Kagiso murder investigation: Strange smell leads to a horrid discovery in son’s bedroom

A case of murder is being investigated after a father in Kagiso Extension 13, West Rand, noticed a peculiar smell emanating from his son’s bedroom.

It is alleged the incident happened on either Tuesday or Wednesday when the father noticed the foul smell.

He investigated out of concern and was met with a horrific sight when he peaked under the bed: a woman’s body.

Gauteng police spokesperson Captain Obakeng Mabaso confirmed to The Citizen the incident happened but could not divulge any information pertaining to the case.

Suicide attempt

The son reportedly attempted to take his own life after his father made the gruesome discovery, and was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

“A case of murder has been opened against the suspect who is in critical condition under police guard in hospital”, said Mabaso.

At the time of publishing, the police could not confirm or clarify the events that led to the discovery of the body as investigations are still underway.

It is rumoured that the victim was the neighbour’s wife who was allegedly having an affair with the suspect.

This, however, could not be verified at the time of publishing.
