KG set for Cardiff move

Bafana Bafana midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi is reportedly close to joining relegated English side Cardiff City.

Dikgacoi, below, is set to turn down a new contract at Crystal Palace and when his current deal with the club runs out at the end of this month. He joined Fulham in 2009 before securing a move to Palace.

Dikgacoi’s agent, Alex Levack of Sidekick Management, told Sky Sports: “Kagisho is currently considering a number of options.”

Ed Aarons, the deputy news editor at the Guardian, tweeted: “Had it confirmed that Kagisho Dikgacoi ‘is close’ to joining Cardiff from #cpfc. Thanks for the memories @KGDikgacoi.”

The midfielder pulled out of Bafana’s Australasian tour last month, citing an injury.

Dikgacoi and Steven Pienaar, who plays for Everton, are the only two South African players competing in the English Premier League. It is also unclear where Pienaar’s future lies.

Meanwhile, Bongani Khumalo’s agent has confirmed the Bafana Bafana defender will be returning to Tottenham Hotspur for pre-season. The 27-year-old centre-back is yet to make an impact at Spurs since joining the club from SuperSport United in January 2011.

Khumalo’s representative, Glyn Binkin, was quoted as saying: “With regards to his future, Bongani will be returning to Spurs during the pre-season. He has a contract with them and that is all I can say at this stage.”
