Metro cop in court for alleged murder
The officer allegedly shot and killed a man with an official firearm during an argument.

A Tshwane metro police constable appeared in the Atteridgeville Magistrates’ Court on a murder charge.
The traffic officer, 34, was arrested at his house in Mamelodi by Wierdabrug police on July 4 after investigations, Rekord Centurion reported.
Tshwane West police cluster spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said the officer allegedly shot and killed a man with an official firearm.
It was believed the officer was involved in an argument with a man at a petrol station in Wierdapark the Sunday before.
“He was off-duty, but was in possession of his official firearm,” said Msimango.
Tshwane metro police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba said they were aware of the officer’s arrest.
Mahamba said the case was also being investigated internally.
“At this stage, we do not know what led to the killing, but the investigation will soon determine that,” said Mahamba.
He will remain in police custody.
