Randfontein sewerage system falling apart

Randfontein's sewerage system has been plagued by constant problems.


Eddie Krog, the DA PR councillor for Ward 24 and 25 (and still involved in Ward 5), has had more than enough of all the sewerage problems in Randfontein.

On Thursday, 12 April, he showed the Randfontein Herald shocking photos that residents had send to him and other councillors. His words were: “This sewerage system is falling apart.

“In Main Road, close to KFC, the sewage spills constantly, which attracts flies. A resident said to me he cannot live like this anymore.”

On one of the residential premises on Sugarbird Street the sewerage spill returns as soon as the municipality has ‘fixed’ it. This has been a recurring problem.

The DA is now petitioning this issue to the Rand West City Local Municipality, the West Rand District Municipality and provincial structures.
