Pilot spots murdered woman on beach

The victim was found naked with multiple stab wounds to her head, breasts and lower torso.

Durban North police have opened a case of murder after the body of a naked woman was found on the Mangroves Beach near Fairway, in KwaZulu-Natal, Northglen News reports.

The woman’s body had multiple stab wounds, and she was found in just her bra on the beach. Police were called out to the beach on Tuesday morning by a pilot.

Lieutenant-Colonel Raymond Deokaran said: “Her body was spotted by a police member from the Air Wing Unit while on a training exercise. The victim is alleged to be between 25 and 30 years old. She had stab wounds to her head, breasts and lower torso. She was naked except for her bra, which had been left on her body.”

“We have opened a case of murder and are looking for the woman’s next-of-kin. We don’t believe she washed up as her body was discovered metres away from the shore. We are appealing to the north Durban residents who know of any family member or person missing to contact us,” he said.

Deokaran added police were still searching for the murderer and the weapon used in the murder.
