Man sentenced to 125 years imprisonment for young boy’s rape

The victim endured sexual abuse from 2015 to 2016.

The Katlehong police assisted the Eden Park police in an investigation into the sexual abuse of a young boy from the Sonwabo section in Eden Park between 2015 and 2016, reports Germiston City News.

The case was first reported to the police by the victim’s sister.

“The boy’s sister noticed that he was acting strangely and asked him what was wrong.

“After some interrogation, the boy explained the suspect was sexually abusing him and that he had threatened to kill him if he told anyone,” explained Capt Mega Ndobe, Katlehong police’s corporate communications official.

Sgt Stephen Moabelo from the Eden Park Police Station has since been commended for his hard work in the investigation, which led to the arrest and conviction of the boy’s abuser, 27-year-old Sfiso Lange.

Lange was found guilty of rape and sentenced to 125 years’ imprisonment in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on September 28.

“Moabela has been applauded for a job well done, and was encouraged to keep up the good work,” said Ndobe.
