Alleged unrest stirrer Bonginkosi Khanyile back in court for bail hearing
Khanyile faces charges of incitement to commit public violence and two counts of convening a gathering in contravention of the Disaster Management Act.

Fees Must Fall (FMF) activist Bonginkosi Khanyile is expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday for his formal bail application.
Khanyile, 31, was arrested earlier this month at his student residence at Wits University by the Hawks for allegedly instigating unrest and looting in KwaZulu-Natal in July. He is accused of inciting public violence through social media and other platforms during the period of unrest.
Khanyile is a staunch supporter of former president Jacob Zuma and has consistently called for Zuma’s release after his imprisonment for being in contempt of court.

He faces charges of incitement to commit public violence and two counts of convening a gathering in contravention of the Disaster Management Act.
During his last court appearance, the state put forward several videos to support their argument for Khanyile to be denied bail.
Khanyile also spoke on behalf of former Ukhozi FM radio DJ, Ngizwe Mchunu, who was charged with incitement to commit public violence linked to the July riots.
Mchunu was released on R2,000 bail by the Randburg Magistrates Court in late July.
