Woman arrested after being caught on camera in k-word rant following car crash

Ngomane thanked Mazibuko, the police and Twitter users for the help provided in sharing the video.

Following video footage of an altercation between two women caused by an accident, the women who allegedly assaulted and referred to Twitter user Siphosethu Ngomane using the k-word, has been arrested.

In a tweet, Ngomane said she and the women would be going to court on Friday. Ngomane lauded MEC for community safety Faith Mazibuko, who reached out immediately after the footage surfaced and insisted on providing support.

Ngomane thanked Mazibuko and the police, as well as Twitter users for sharing the video.

While Ngomane claimed it was the woman who crashed into her car, the woman clearly did not agree and obscenities ensued as a result.

Ngomane said she was on her way from work when she noticed the driver of the car in front of her had lost control.

Ngomane said: “I slowed down to make sure that I maintain a safe following distance [as I was]. The car then hit a lamppost and stopped moving altogether, the driver seemed to be in a fit-like condition and then became unconscious. We then called the police …”

As they were waiting for police, the woman in the video allegedly crashed into their car.

“Instead of apologising, she cursed me out, slapping my phone out my hand [and it hit my face], threatened to ‘beat me up’, calling me names. But the final straw was when she used the k-word!”
