Eskom’s top managers send explosive memo to Ramaphosa to intervene

The memo request deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa to intervene in the following urgent matters:

  • Urgent legal processes against people who have brought Eskom into disrepute
  • The appointment of a credible Eskom board
  • The appointment of a reputable chief executive and chief financial officer

On Friday Eskom chairperson Zethembe Khoza submitted his resignation to the minister of public enterprises Lynne Brown.

“I think it’s in [the] good interest of the country…after all the noise, it’s better for me,” said Khoza.

Nhlanhla Nene, former minister of finance is touted as the next head of the Eskom board.
