Gareth Cliff praises Muthambi’s skill in moving a rock in a road … a little bit

The radio host says the public service minister has 'skills'.

Shock jock Gareth Cliff uploaded a few photographs on to his Facebook page on Friday in which he heaped praise on Minister of Public Service Faith Muthambi, who was moving a rock in a dirt road.

Although many have critiqued the minister as a hollow but blindly loyal cadre appointment with no ability to manage the departments she has run – often mismanaging her budgets spectacularly while appointing friends and family to positions in an irregular way – Cliff was of the view that people may have been too hard on her.

He wrote: “Hey! Critics of the ANC: Proof that Minister Faith Muthambi has skills! Amandla!” He also added two different raised-fist emojis at the end.

In the pictures, the minister appears to be doing battle with the biggest rock in a dirt road that has rocks strewn all over it. There’s a big black Jeep off to the side, presumably Muthambi’s car.

She and her entourage seem to be doing their bit to clear a road, perhaps following a protest.

In the series of images, Muthambi manages to roll the rock once and then takes a break.

Cliff’s followers had some choice barbs about Muthambi and her work: Daryn Mildenhall commented that he was very impressed by the rock itself, but was upset that Muthambi was perhaps disturbing its morning.

That’s an awesome pic of her. But why is she being moved out of the road by that woman in the white and red outfit?”

Pieter du Plessis told Mildenhall that he had won “the internet today”.

Oliver Wright observed that Muthambi had moved the rock “one whole foot, and not towards either side of the road either. Fantastic work.”
