LISTEN: Remix of Joshua Doore jingle throws shade at Gordhan, Ramaphosa

Now we have an uncle in the furniture business and the load shedding business, according to the new jingle.

A fed-up South African decided to take out his frustrations in a song, and it is quite impressive. While people have previously created their beats and created new songs using politicians’ voices or lyrics about politicians, this one decided to only change the lyrics of furniture store Joshua Doore’s jingle.

Listen to the original jingle below:

The producer used the Joshua Doore jingle because, for some reason, Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan has been nicknamed the Joshua Doore uncle for some time now. The use of President Cyril Ramaphosa could simply be due to him being the president of the country. Perhaps Buffalo would not have rhymed with the song.

The new lyrics of the jingle complains about load shedding and accuses the president and Gordhan of turning the lights off on us, though they’ve argued it had to be done to keep the system stable.

“You’ve got an uncle in the load shedding business, Pravin Gordhan and Cyril. Together as one, they turn off the lights, together as one, they tell us the lies,” sings the man.
