Man’s body found in ocean off uMhlanga Beach

Durban North SAPS are trying to identify the man, who is believed to have been in his 40s.


Durban North SAPS have launched an investigation after a man’s body was found floating in the ocean around 300 metres off uMhlanga Beach’s shore in KwaZulu-Natal on Friday morning, North Glen News reports.

The body was discovered by a fishing boat, a police source confirmed. The victim, believed to be in his 40s, was brought to the shore in a rubber dinghy by lifeguards from uMhlanga after they were alerted.

According to eyewitnesses, the man’s body was badly decomposed and had several shark bite wounds.

Police are currently trying to identify the man. The cause of his death is yet to be determined.

The body has been taken to the Phoenix morgue.
