EFF to march to George Hospital

This forms part of the EFF's focus on public healthcare in 2018.

The rank and file of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) will march to the George Hospital on Thursday, 5 April, in support of the party’s national public healthcare campaign, George Herald reports.

In February, the EFF declared 2018 the year of public health care, undertaking to raise awareness of the poor condition of the state’s health facilities.

Diswayne Maarman, EFF Southern Cape regional coordinator, has confirmed that EFF supporters will congregate mid-morning at the taxi terminus in the CBD before leaving for the George Hospital, where a memorandum is expected to be handed to the hospital’s management.

The EFF will then depart for the George Municipality, where a second memorandum is expected to be delivered.

Maarman says the EFF has applied to the authorities for the necessary permission.

The top six of the EFF, including leader Julius Malema, will address an EFF rally at the Thembalethu Stadium on Friday, 6 April.
