The driver of a BMW Z4 was shot in an alleged attempted hijacking on the corner of Ontdekkers and Hendrik Potgieter roads in Johannesburg late yesterday afternoon (23 January), Roodepoort Northsider reports.

The Northsider has gathered that the driver of the vehicle was rushed to hospital after being shot in the lower body.
It is unclear at this stage the number of perpetrators involved, however, police have closed off one of the lanes on Ontdekkers Road for forensic investigators to comb the scene.
This incident resulted in traffic congestion in both directions on the road.
