North West ready to provide scholar transport
At least 58 learners did not go to school in Boons outside Rustenburg when the school reopen last year, due to transport problems.

The North West province is ready to provide scholar transport when schools reopen, the department of Community Safety and Transport Management said on Thursday.
“We are ready for the schools reopening and assure everyone that all learners will be ferried to their various schools on time and safely,” said head of department Botlhale Mofokeng.
She met with North West Transport Investment (NTI) CEO Bukeka Mahlutshane and Learner Transport CEO Gideon Wessie in Rustenburg on Wednesday.
The meeting was to discuss and come up with innovative strategies to improve scholar transport services, and deal with problems that were met last year.
“Our Department together with the department of education and sports development and the NTI will run a thorough inspection on the scholar transports before the school reopening to ensure that the transport used to fury learners are road worthy and have valid permits,” she said.
At least 58 learners did not go to school in Boons outside Rustenburg when the school reopen last year, due to transport problems.
The service provider failed to transport learners for two days, due to none payment.
The department said the service provider did not submit invoices for services rendered.
