Jacob Zuma is an honest man – Herman Mashaba

The mayor alludes that Ramaphosa is a charmer who plays around with people's emotions.

City of Johannesburg mayor Herman Mashaba said he believed that if Cyril Ramaphosa was elected president in the upcoming sixth national elections, South Africans will find themselves begging for Jacob Zuma’s return.

Speaking during a media briefing at Constitutional Hill in Braamfontein on Sunday alongside his fellow DA leaders, Mashaba and his counterparts all blamed the ANC for fuelling protests for electioneering in DA-led municipalities.

Sowetan reports that Maimane and Mashaba even went as far as calling protests such as the Alex shutdown “ANC-sponsored” before alleging that they were endorsed by Ramaphosa.

“I warn you and I warn people of South Africa that come May 8, if Cyril Ramaphosa and the ANC must continue, I can assure you the wasted nine years of Jacob Zuma will be like a walk in the park. I can assure you 18 to 24 months’ time, people of this country are going to ask Jacob Zuma to come back and the reason for that is because Jacob Zuma is an honest man,” said Mashaba.

The mayor went on to allude that Ramaphosa was a charmer who played with people’s emotions.

He also promised that he would visit Alexandra on Monday, April 15, where he would reveal the names of ANC leaders who were involved in the “looting” of the R1 billion earmarked for the renewal of the township.
