Supra hints he may resign on Friday
The premier at the end of his budget speech told the speaker to expect a letter, but without detailing what its contents would be.

North West premier Supra Mahumapelo appears to be buckling under pressure, as he provided an indication during his North West budget speech in the legislature that he may resign from office this week.
He was tabling his 2018/19 budget speech.
He was clear in his intention to send a letter to speaker Susan Dantjie.
This followed the Economic Freedom Fighters earlier storming out of Mahumapelo’s budget speech address. The EFF had filed for a motion of no confidence against the premier and wanted it to be by secret ballot vote. The red berets demanded the motion of no confidence debate against Mahumapelo be allowed to take place.
Mounting calls for Mahumapelo to step down have been made following allegations of corruption.
The ANC top six are in North West and are chaired by President Cyril Ramaphosa to mediate a way forward regarding Mahumapelo’s future. It’s understood that the ANC’s national executive committee wants him to resign and Ramaphosa already communicated that to Mahumapelo last week, in what is effectively a recall.
