Disaster management teams remain on high alert amid wet weather in parts of SA

The government has cautioned the public to remain vigilant in heavily affected areas.

The government says provincial disaster management teams remain on high alert amid severe weather conditions in parts of the country.

This after at least 1,700 residents in Nelson Mandela Bay were displaced this week after heavy rain resulted in flooding in certain areas.

The government has cautioned the public to remain vigilant in heavily affected areas.

“Avoid crossing rivers and swollen streams where water reaches above your ankles. Ensure that you move to higher ground. In rural areas, protect/relocate animals to a safe place on higher ground,” said the government on Tuesday.
