What Twitter thinks is happening in this awkward photo of Mbalula

The police minister says he will block anyone who shares the picture, which Julius Malema has already done.

A picture of Police Minister Fikile Mbalula sitting on a couch at what seems to be a gathering has emerged. In the photo, the minister is seen sitting next to another man holding a glass of wine, and appears to be trying to tell Mbalula something.

The minister leans in to hear what the man is saying, perhaps because there is loud music playing.

Mbalula has seen the picture doing the rounds on Twitter, and has threatened to block anyone who retweets or laughs at it, but we’re still waiting for him to do that to EFF leader Julius Malema, as he has done exactly that.

Nhlanhla Maboya, a Twitter user who shared the picture, said it reminded him of the days when guys used the “let’s go to my room to fetch a jersey” line to tempt women into sleeping with them. The trick apparently always worked.

“I don’t care what ladies say, this used to work like a charm,” said one user, while another said: “Worse is when a guy gives you a lift home and tells you he has to stop by his place first to get a jersey.”

These were some of the comments on Twitter:

“Uyaphi? Phendula.”

“Oooh my is that Mbalula …looking all camp.”

“… tell your friend uyabuya”

“Now Fikile needs to arrest himself or somebody arrest him.”

“So none of you are brave enough to tag Mbaks on this.”

“Mmmm you smell so nice like Beyoncé Mayweather.”

“Hay I give up the land will never be us again.”

“That’s why police stations are robbed.”

“Minister of Jokes aka Squealer had too much.”

“Those two look cosy.”

“What’s your team, Bafana or Banyana? Anyway they’re both SA.”

“His facial expression priceless but I must say that glass ke rothise mathe bikinyang kgale jang ke sa botshware (made me salivate a bit, I haven’t had alcohol in a while).

“Is the minister wearing leggings?”
