A traffic officer sustained serious injuries when she was hit by a wheel that came off a caravan at a road block on Thursday afternoon.
The officer was part of a roadblock set up on the N4 in Bronkhorstspruit, Kempton Express reported.
Athlenda Mathe of Netcare 911 said the Netcare helicopter was dispatched to a scene around 2pm.
Reports indicate the woman was hit by a wheel that came off a caravan at the roadblock.
“Because of the severity of her injuries, she was airlifted to a level 1 trauma facility in Johannesburg.”
