A warrant of arrest has been issued for media personality Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye after he failed to appear at the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
He is currently out on bail of R5 000 for kidnapping, unlawful discharge of a firearm, and defeating the ends of justice.
The warrant was issued procedurally and is expected to remain in place until his next court appearance on 7 September. Should he not appear next month, the warrant will be activated.
According to reports, Maarohanye’s lawyer told the court that the 45-year-old had been booked off for five days after falling ill on August 20.

Maarohanye faced charges that included the unlawful discharge of a firearm following the alleged confrontation.
According to the case information, Maarohanye had allegedly accused the driver of being romantically involved with his girlfriend after the driver dropped her off at his home.
It was further alleged that Maarohanye removed the driver from his vehicle before firing a shot in his direction. The incident formed the basis of the criminal case now before the Germiston court.
