Santa Claus is coming to town – here’s where you can find him this December

This time of the year comes with many special events and happenings, including the opportunity for children to meet Santa.

Santa Claus is all over the place come December, which is why this list of his whereabouts could be quite handy.

Fourways Mall

Find Santa at Santa Land until 22 December 2021. Based in Fourways Mall, kids can take part in a unique, interactive North Pole adventure.

Kids can snap a picture with Santa, write a letter to Santa and just indulge in the joy of the season.

Other activities include gingerbread decorating with HOTBAKE, book readings at Exclusive Books, Santa’s Grotto where kids can explore a world of play brought to you by Hamleys and of course, some Christmas treats from Paul’s Homemade Ice Cream, Krispy Kreme and more.

This video is no longer available.

Santa will be available for family photos at Santa Land until 24 December. Tickets cost R25 per person online and R30 per person at the door.

Meet Santa Claus virtually

Your family can meet Santa virtually for a quick meet and greet, or even for story time with Santa and his elves on selected dates this December.

On 17 December, it is story time with Santa and a week later, you can join Santa on a virtual sleigh ride. This sleigh ride serves as a practice ride before the big night and just before take-off, Santa will read The Night Before Christmas – one of his favourites.

You and your family can even track Santa live this year come Christmas Eve.

Photos with Santa

Santa will also be at Sandton City Shopping Centre until 24 December 2021, so you’d better get your smile on for the snap of the year.

Visit Toyland at Centre Court and spot his red suit and white beard anytime between 9am and 6PM, with the exception of the day before Christmas where he will only be there until 2pm as he will need time to prepare the sleigh.

Run with Santa Claus

On 16 December, Santa will be the one handing out prizes for the best dressed individuals (and pets) at the Santa Run at Irene River. It is a pet-friendly walk or run and all those finishing the 5km fun run will receive medals.

Santa’s Warehouse

Last, but not least, Santa and his elves will also be at Santa’s Warehouse in Pretoria where kids can meet him while mom and dad buy some special decorations for the Christmas tree.

V&A Waterfront’s Summer Palace

If you’re travelling to Cape Town this December, be sure to be there in time for Santa’s arrival on 15 December. He will be seated in the Summer Palace at the V&A Waterfront, and here you will also be able to have a photo taken with him and his elves.

Whether you’re up in Gauteng or down in the Cape, you’ll be able to meet Santa either way.
