Local dancers in line with success

Various traditional dance styles such as cha cha or the waltz are incorporated into a set routine to specific songs.

Eleven line dancing students from JK Dance Studio swivelled and pivoted their way to success in the recent SADTA medal test examination in line dancing and solo dancing in Hillcrest.

Line dancing is dancing done without a partner using ballroom and latin technical styles.

Various traditional dance styles such as cha cha or the waltz are incorporated into a set routine to specific songs.

The use of movement and body style is an advantage achieved with practice.

The eleven ranged from bronze level doing three dance styles to silver bar and medal with one dancer achieving Honours in Emerald where five dances were performed in consecutive sequence.
Nine students achieved highly commended and two honours.
