Woman defrauded by business ‘guru’
Beware of business con-men who say they can double your investment.

A WOMAN was defrauded out of an undisclosed amount of money by an alleged business guru. According to Lt Raymond Deokaran, the woman attended a business seminar where the man asked those present to deposit money into his account.
“The businessman told the people present, of which there were more than 20, that if they invested in him, he could guarantee that he would double their money within a certain period of time.
“The woman who was conned has since tried contacting the businessman but to no avail. At this point we are still investigating whether some of the people present were part of the scam or if there are more people who have lost their money,” he said.
Deokaran urged residents not to fall victim to these kinds of scams. “The golden rule is if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is,” he said.
