The pageant, which brings together contestants of Indian origin from across the globe, is a celebration of culture, heritage, and talent.
Arkitha earned her spot on the world stage after a standout performance at a pageant hosted in Ladysmith by veteran organiser Vimmi Ramdaas, who marked 30 years in the industry. Not only was Arkitha crowned a winner and named brand ambassador, but she also walked away with the best talent award in the teen category.
“It’s a huge honour. I’m truly grateful for this platform and want to use it to highlight the strength and beauty of youth, while promoting self-confidence and cultural pride,” she said.
The week-long international event in Mumbai will see contestants participating in cultural experiences, grooming sessions, and training with top choreographers and coaches. The grand finale will feature segments such as evening gown, traditional eastern wear, a talent showcase, and a question-and-answer round.
Proud parents Aren and Rakhi Massallia (née Ramphal) say they are thrilled by their daughter’s achievements and proud to see her stepping onto one of the most glamorous global stages for Indian heritage.
True to her mission of inspiring others, Arkitha is also in the process of launching Dance for Change, a non-profit initiative aimed at promoting mental well-being and confidence through dance.
The programme will offer free dance classes and workshops to children in underprivileged communities, providing a safe and empowering outlet for expression and healing.
“Dance has helped me express who I am. Now, I want to use that same energy to uplift others,” said Arkitha.
She looks forward to visiting the different temples during her stay in India.
