Sharks win battle of Durban in Fin Cup

THE Hollywoodbets Sharks claimed provincial bragging rights on Sunday after they beat the Hollywoodbet Dolphins by six wickets in The Fin Cup.

The two Durban giants faced off at Kingsmead Stadium in a game of T20 cricket.

The Dolphins, who batted first, also included their head coach Quinton Friend in the line-up and posted a formidable score of 207-6.

Not to be undone, the Sharks proved that they can hit the ball as hard as they tackle on the rugby pitch and chased down the score, only losing four wickets.

They were cheered on by a vociferous Durban faithful, with many loyalties tested on the day as evidenced by the split in Dolphins and Sharks jerseys.

At the launch of the event earlier this year Devin Heffer, the brand and communications manager at Hollywoodbets, said the Fin Cup was more than just a fun day out.

“It’s a celebration of unity, passion and pride in our province. We’re thrilled to bring back this incredible event where cricket meets rugby, families come together, and KwaZulu-Natal shines as one. It’s about making memories, creating connections, and championing the vibrant spirit of KZN,” he said.
