“I think the values my parents instilled in me from a young age definitely led me to education. Seeing how my father nurtured young minds while also being there for us as a family really inspired me to do the same. There are many rewarding this about my job but another reason I chose education is that it is rewarding to see children grow and develop.

“When I look back at children I’ve taught six or seven years ago and seen how far they’ve come is moving. Knowing I played a small part in helping that learner be the best person makes it all worth it. It is all about upliftment and empowerment,” he said.

King added that since his appointment, the staff, parents and learners have been supportive and welcoming.

“I think most of the staff at the school know me having worked with me and they’ve been extremely supportive. I’m honoured, proud and excited to lead the school. I hope to make Virginia Prep the primary school of choice in the area in my tenure,” he said.
