High-speed chase leads to crash and arrests on Queen Nandi Drive

Multiple car-breaking implements, as well as a signal jammer, were found by law enforcement after the arrests.

THREE suspects were arrested on Sunday afternoon after a high-speed chase led to a crash on Queen Nandi Drive.

“The incident occurred at about 13:40,” confirmed Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell.

A search of the suspects’ getaway vehicle revealed multiple car-breaking implements and computer boxes used to steal vehicles and a signal jammer designed to block vehicle-tracking units.

“Members of Marshall Security’s Special Operations Team (SOT) received information regarding a high-speed pursuit involving a white VW Polo on Queen Nandi Drive in the Riverhorse Valley area. SAPS had initiated the pursuit, and our team, being in proximity, immediately responded to assist.

“In a desperate attempt to evade capture, the suspects tried to make a sharp right turn at the intersection of Queen Nandi Drive and Hippo Park Avenue but lost control of the vehicle, colliding with one of our SOT vehicles. Despite their efforts to flee, all three suspects were quickly apprehended in a coordinated operation. All three suspects, along with their vehicle and the recovered items, were transported to Newlands East SAPS for further investigation and processing,” he said.

According to Powell, none of their officers sustained serious injuries during the collision.
