Greenwood Park school receives stationery donation

Columbia Primary School in Greenwood Park received a stationery donation from the Hollywood Foundation on Wednesday.

HOLLYWOOD Foundation ambassador Keshav Maharaj donated essential school stationery to Columbia Primary School in Greenwood Park on Wednesday as part of a #BackToSchool campaign.

Educators, staff and learners welcomed the donation at the handover.

“It is an honour to return to a school that holds such a special place in my heart. Being here brings back so many cherished memories. I am grateful to the Hollywood Foundation for initiatives like this, which empower young learners with the tools they need to achieve their dreams and succeed in life,” said Proteas cricket star Maharaj.

School principal, Miss G.N. Hlatshwayo, thanked Maharaj and the Hollywood Foundation for the stationery.

“This contribution would have a meaningful impact on children, many of whom come from disadvantaged backgrounds,” said Hlatshwayo.

She added that the school not only serves the Greenwood Park area but also supports learners from nearby informal settlements, giving them a chance at a brighter future.
