SAPS encourages residents to attend community imbizo

The community imbizo is focused on addressing crimes impacting the communities within the Durban North police precinct.

THE Durban North police station has encouraged residents to attend the next community imbizo on Wednesday, February 25, at Northlands Primary School (17:00 for 17:30).

Last year the station held several community engagements with many residents raising issues over reckless driving.

They called for stricter enforcement over speeding and reckless driving, particularly in uMhlanga.

In recent weeks the station has recorded a number of fraud cases, both online and banking, and thefts out of motor vehicles cases.

“These community engagements are focused on addressing crimes impacting the communities we serve. This is a way for residents and various roleplayers to voice their concerns or address service delivery issues to the SAPS,” explained spokesperson for the police station, Sergeant Nonhlanhla Shozi.

“It also gives the SAPS a forum to discuss crime trends and patterns affecting the area. Part of that is also information from our Crime Information Management and Analysis Centre (CIMAC) commander,”

The Durban North CPF and officials from Metro Police will also be in attendance.
