Motorist dies after crash on N2 near Umhlanga
A woman was declared dead at the scene after her vehicle crashed into roadside barriers on the N2 southbound, just past Sibaya.
A WOMAN has died following a crash on the N2 southbound this morning (October 11), just past Sibaya heading towards Umhlanga.
According to KZN VIP Emergency Medical Services, reports from other motorists indicated that the woman’s vehicle was seen swerving from side to side before colliding with the roadside barriers.
KZN VIP spokesperson Gareth Naidoo said emergency medical teams responded to the scene and assessed the woman. He said the motorists showed no signs of life and that she was declared dead at the scene.

“It is suspected that she may have experienced a medical emergency while driving. However, this remains unconfirmed, and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident have yet to be established,” said Naidoo.
He added that members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) and other emergency services also attended the scene. KZN VIP extended their condolences to the woman’s family and loved ones.
“KZN VIP extends its deepest and heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones during this difficult time,” said Naidoo.
