Editor- THE news media here and overseas often report on death or severe injuries sustained by people attacked by supposedly domesticated dogs.
All dog owners should take out public liability insurance to cover themselves for the legal liability that can arise.
The injuries can result in substantial hospital, and medical expenses, loss of income for time off work, and the courts have made substantial awards for the pain and suffering, permanent disfigurement etc.
Such insurance is relatively inexpensive.
In fact if it was practical, legislation should be enacted to make it compulsory for dog owners to take out such insurance in my view.
