Storm water drain a flow of problems

Residents are anxious about the hazardous open stormwater drain on Panorama Drive.

Veronica Nair is very anxious about the hazardous open stormwater drain on Panorama Drive.

“My 10-year-old son fell into it a month ago and he nearly fell into it again on Monday, March 3,” she said.

“There are elderly people who make use of the road. There is also a nearby bar and if someone has been drinking, they won’t see the hole and fall in.”

Mrs Nair added she had lodged a complaint to the municipality about it , but had received no joy.

“I’m getting fed up now. No one cares about the poor people. If someone had to fall into the stormwater drain, what will be done about it?”

The municipality was contacted for comment, but none was forthcoming at the time of going to print.
