PREVIEW: Newcastle’s street names find a way

With the Place Naming Committee still in existence, the future could hold new place and street names for Newcastle.

Street names and places of Newcastle could well be changed.

Officials confirmed the Place Naming Committee still existed.

This body is comprised of both councillors and municipal officials and was founded in November 2015.

The committee was to be tasked with the renaming of streets, parks and buildings

An inquiry sent last week however, dealt more specifically with instances such as Henrietta Street in Lennoxton.

At the Panorama Drive intersection, a sign proclaimed ‘Hendrieta St’.
