Infrastructure development project is blossoming

Within the precinct of the sports complex, there is also an office park, which will serve as a 'one-stop-shop' for government services

On Friday morning, Okhahlamba Local Municipality hosted a walkabout of the first phase of one of its major infrastructure development projects, the Okhahlamba Sports Complex.

Within the precinct of the sports complex, there is also an office park, which will serve as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for government services in a bid to bring government closer to the people of Okhahlamba.

Work is continuing at the facility.

The event was attended by various stakeholders including national and provincial government representatives, sectoral groups, the contractors and the media.

The municipality is in the process of fundraising for the second phase of the development. This will include an Information Technology Hub, which will serve to upskill local youth and a state-of-the-art athletics track.

The sports complex hall will be opened to the public for bookings from October 2018.
