uThukela provides a house for a deserving family

The family thanked the municipality for responding so swiftly when they became aware of their plight

uThukela District Municipality was instrumental in handing over a house to a family in the Sahlumbe area on Tuesday last week.

Accompanied by Cllr NL Zikalala, Cllr XF Mhlongo and Cllr S Mfusi, uThukela Deputy Mayor NW Sibiya partnered with Nhloso Development Consultant to hand over the house to the Mungwe family in Ward 29 of Alfred Duma Local Municipality. Addressing the attendees, the deputy mayor praised the good working relations between the municipality and Nhloso.

“This partnership has delivered a home to a family in need. It is right that we celebrate, because this moment will encourage us to keep going.

We do this in the name of delivering services to our nation. I am glad that Nhloso Development Consultant took these necessary decisions and actions with us when we called,” said Cllr Sibiya.

The family then thanked the municipality for responding so swiftly when they became aware of their plight.

The municipality was able to officially hand over a secure and well-built house to the Mungwa family. It will be more than just a place of shelter; it will be a home, because it restores to this family the dignity they were forced to surrender through circumstances.
