The month of September is known as Heritage Month in South Africa. It is also when Zulu King Inkosi uShaka died.
The theme for this month is ‘reclaiming, restoring and celebrating our living heritage’.
In accordance with this milestone, the Inkosi Langalibalele Local Task Team (LTT) led by the Mayor Jabulile Mbele, conducted an outreach program on September 5. They visited the EnhlanoMkhize area in Ward 11 to celebrate the month of September and to sensitise people about the importance of going back to basics.
Mr Nkabinde the Operation Sakhume Sakhe (OSS) Chairperson gave people insight as to why OSS is so important in changing the lives of the people on the ground. The Mayor Mrs Mbele was accompanied by Deputy Mayor Cllr B Dlamini, who introduced the Mayor, Ward Councillor BE Nkala, Cllr NM Hlongwane and Izinduna zeNkosi, who were there to bless the OSS programme.
