Skaapdag meat hampers galore at golf day

A big thank you to Bruce for sponsoring the day as well as the braai after the game

The Skaapdag golf day was held on Saturday with 48 players taking part. Initiated by Arnold Boettiger, this Saturday’s skaap (sheep) was sponsored by Bruce Le Roux. With a shotgun start no-one could not see who was leading after nine holes.

At the end it was Rajen Goodoon and Roy Ramkasoon, who scored 45 points on his own, the pair winning on 59 points, seven ahead of second placed Warren Smith and Dave Phillips on 50.

They were followed by Cass Mather and Mohamed Jhetam on 49, Herman Dlamini and Mbo Hlongwane also on 49, Deejay Ramdhav and Harry Koovarjee also 49, Bruce Le Roux and Melton Schiever on count out 49.

Closest the pin number three went to Gail Boettiger, the jackpot was shared between Roy, Rajen, Gordon and George. Two clubs made by Roy Ramkasoon, Clive Cole and Tuppy Schiever. Prizes went as far as seventh place. A big thank you to Bruce for sponsoring the day as well as the braai after the game. Players from Mooi River, Greytown and Pietermaritzburg were welcomed.

It was good to see Kon Boettiger and Neil Maxwell on the course. Spare a thought for Joe Mabaso and Seo Mthetwa who played out of their socks to be beaten by the entire field. Two of the best players Carlo and Owen failed to reach the prizes.

The first round of the matchplay must be played by Monday, June 6 or forfeit the game. The Lalparsad Inc Monthly Mug will be played for this Saturday.
