From Ikageng to World Cup

She is currently in Malaysia competing in the ICC U19 Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2025.

Nthabiseng Nini (19), a matric student at Technical High School in Potchefstroom, is a true inspiration to the community of Ikageng and Potchefstroom.

She is currently in Malaysia competing in the ICC U19 Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2025 from January 18 to February 2. There are 16 teams competing and this is the second edition of the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup.

Nthabiseng has been playing cricket since 2017 and made her debut for the Dragon’s women’s team at the age of 15, playing her first match for them in 2020.

She is not only good at cricket. Many people don’t know that Nthabiseng is also a netball player and enjoys dancing and singing.

Nthabiseng wants to grow into becoming a better cricketer on the field and a better human being off the field.

“I would like to set an example for the next generation. My biggest dream is to firstly win the current U19 T20 World Cup for my country. I would also like to be part of the Women’s Proteas team.”
