Reconstruction taking place in Jeppe street

Currently, the team is rerouting the storm water system to the storm water collecting pit.

Residents of JB Marks Local Municipality are informed that the team of Officials from Roads and Construction Section under the direction of Executive Mayor Cllr. Gaba Thithiba Ka Qhele and Municipal Manager Mr. Kgomotso Kumbe, are diligently rebuilding an 80-meter section of Jeppe Street.

Jeanette Tshite, municipal spokesperson, says this comes after ponding water issues that the Municipality had for a while.

“Currently, the team is rerouting the storm water system to the storm water collecting pit, rerouting the road shoulder to prevent water from ponding. To address issues of storm water blockages and water ponding on Jeppe Street, the team will construct dishes and shoulders to stop water from ponding on the Street.”

In light of this, residents are asked to exercise patience when crossing Jeppe Street while the rebuilding process is underway. When driving on the specific road, they should permit Officials to steer them.
