NWU student crowned as Miss North-West Exclusive

Phenyo worked hard to reach her dream.

Phenyo Sebetlele (20), a second year Recreational Science and Tourism Management student at the North-West University, was crowned Miss North-West Exclusive on August 30.

Born in Klerksdorp, she went to Saints Christian School in Potchefstroom and finished her matric at Curro in Klerksdorp. In her spare time, she likes to model and has her own small crotchet business.

Phenyo entered the Miss North-West Exclusive pageant in August 2024 with a dream of stepping out of her comfort zone and working on the woman she wants to become.

Throughout her journey, she became an advocate for victims and NPO’s of Gender Based Violence.

“It was definitely a challenge to get here. It was not an easy road and I am proud of myself.”

Phenyo’s dream doesn’t just stop at the crown.

“In five years’ time, I see myself having my own non-profit organisation or pageant, inspiring other young women in the pageant industry and engaging more with my community,” Phenyo says.
