A seventeen-year-old teenage girl woke up near Mohadin stadium on Monday morning after being raped, beaten and stabbed by her neighbour.
According to Const. Kelebogile Trom, the SAPS spokesperson, the incident happened at about 18:30 on Sunday. Trom says the teenager took a walk to Mpumelelo Street in Ext. 7 that Sunday. On her way, she passed the man who lives across the road from where she lives. He called her by name and she waited for him. He told her that he wanted her to go with him to deliver a letter to his girlfriend’s house.
‘He had vodka and Coke with him and he offered her a drink. When they were near Mohadin Stadium, he stopped to urinate. When he had finished, he took out a knife and told the teenager that he wants what’s between her legs. She told him she wanted to go home. He then cut her jean into two pieces and slapped her.’
When the girl fell to the ground, he proceeded to rape her. When he had finished, she tried to run away but the alleged perpetrator caught up with her.
‘He stabbed her in the buttocks and head and she passed out. She came around the following morning and found herself on the ground and unable to move,’ Trom said.
The alleged rapist has not yet been arrested.
