The murder suspect who has been on the run for seven months after allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend and leaving her in a pool of blood with her two children has at last been apprehended by none other than Sergeant Riana Keka.

Keka, who has been described by her peers as a ‘cream of the crop’ detective, managed to arrest Patrick Mafoko recently.
According to her, Mafoko ran away to Rustenburg after allegedly stabbing Tlaleng Joyce Mosia to death. Fortunately, Keka was able to trace him in Kanana when he came back to Ikageng.
‘After receiving a tip-off as to his whereabouts, I went with the tracker team, crime prevention Ikageng and a CSC member of Ikageng and we found him,’ said Keka.
Tlaleng Joyce Mosia’s ex-boyfriend allegedly stabbed her to death last year. He has finally been arrested after a seven-month long police hunt.

‘The family is happy that justice will be served. I would like to thank all SAPS members who were willing to help at short notice. We also value the assistance of the informers highly. Const. Motseokae of Potchefstroom SAPS and Const. Masibi of Ikageng SAPS assisted in the apprehension of the suspect even though they were both off duty. They were willing to take the risk even though they were not required to do so,’ she said.
Keka has already been instrumental in the successful conviction of Tsietse Sikade who was sentenced to life imprisonment in September this year for stabbing his girlfriend fifteen times and killing her.
This year, Keka also contributed to the life sentence of Khado David Mogale who murdered his girlfriend execution-style in April last year.
