The search for a female pit bull that was allegedly stolen yesterday, is still on.

Rhona, the two-year-old family dog that was like one of the children in the house, disappeared from her yard in Hoffman Street yesterday afternoon. The owner Nicolette Lottering posted on Facebook about their missing dog whereafter many people reported seeing her pulled on a rope by three men.

Lottering says it looks as if the cable ties at their gate were cut, and therefore they suspect that Rhona didn’t leave the yard by herself. She says that Rhona is a house dog and sleeps on the bed with her son Ben-nico (15). “My son’s heart is broken, we just want our dog back,” she says.

According to Darren Kruger, chairman of PAWS, it seems as if the men were headed to Ikageng or Promosa with the dog. PAWS asks that anyone who spots the dog should please report it immediately so that Rhona can be reunited with her family. Rhona was last seen yesterday afternoon in Piet Bosman Street being pulled on a rope by three men.
