NW Premier, Supra Mahumapelo, has been receiving text messages which contain death threats against him, reported the Office of the Premier.
Mahumapelo subsequently opened a case of intimidation which resulted in the arrest of the suspect, a ward 13 councillor in Mahikeng Local Municipality.
According to the Facebook post of the Office of the Premier, the suspect has appeared before the Molopo Magistrate court today.
‘He was granted a bail of R3000 with conditions to it which include amongst others that he should hand over his passport to the investigating officer and that he should not interact with witnesses.’
‘I welcome the arrest of the suspect and have full confidence that the law will take its course. This is not the first attempt on my life, including attempts at defaming me,’ said Mahumapelo.
