A 15-year-old girl from Ext. 7 confided in a nurse at a clinic that her 58-year-old father has allegedly been raping her since she was ten years old.
According to Sgt Kelebogile Trom, the police spokesperson, the teen stays with her parents and siblings.
“Her father allegedly started raping her in 2013 when she was in Gr. 4. He would come to her room when everyone was asleep. He would tell her to undress and would allegedly rape her. He told her not to say anything. The teen had kept quiet all these years until she recently got sick and decided to tell the nurse. The clinic contacted her mother and the police and referred her to Thuthuzela Care Centre,” reported Trom.
Trom says the police are investigating a rape case.
