3 800 cupcakes were sold!

Whilst the Aardklop Art Festival came to an end last weekend, Potchefstroomers made an effort to support the Cupcakes for Hope foundation to raise funds for children with cancer.

In the end, the foundation raised even more funds this year than the previous year. All of the 3 800 cupcakes were sold at the Mooirivier Mall last Sunday, 29 September.

Cupcakes for Hope is a non-profit organisation that has supporters all over South Africa who help raise funds to financially support children with cancer. Cupcake sales were organised at 88 shopping centres in South Africa.

The organisers in Potchefstroom, Angelique Hall, and Elmarieta van Niekerk, were elated by everybody’s support. “There were 120 people who helped to bake and 25 people assisted with the icing, decoration, and sales at the mall. Without all the helpers and the businesses who have donated ingredients and equipment, the sale wouldn’t have been such a great success”, says Angelique.
