A 20-year-old girl alleges that last Wednesday (4 March) morning, her stepfather raped her in their home.
According to Sgt Kelebogile Trom, police spokesperson, the 20-year-old alleges that around 10:00, she was busy bathing while her friend was in their living room. The girl’s stepfather arrived and allegedly chased the friend out of the house.
“He (the stepfather) opened the door of the bathroom. She shouted and told him that she is inside, naked. Upon entering he pushed her down, undressed himself and raped her,” said Trom.
The girl allegedly told him that she would tell her mother but he just went back to work.
The girl informed her mother and told her that it wasn’t the first time he raped her. She alleged that he raped her in 2015. However, she didn’t report the matter to the police but she did tell her family and reported it to social workers.
“The suspect has not yet been arrested but the investigation is ongoing,” says Trom.
