A taxi collided with a motor vehicle on Ikageng Road on Friday evening, 26 June. 14 people were injured and a man believed to be in his 20’s passed away.
According to Ross Campbell, ER24 spokesperson, ER24 paramedics were on the scene around 19:22, together with the Provincial EMS and local fire department.
“A man in his 20’s who was found in the motor vehicle, suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead on arrival. A 32 year old man was also found entrapped in the same vehicle. He suffered serious injuries and was extracted by the Fire Department and taken to Potchefstroom Hospital, ” Campbell said.

Paramedics treated three men, aged 31, 25, and 43, who were in the taxi. They suffered moderate injuries but were taken to the Potchefstroom Hospital for further medical attention. A 35-year-old who suffered minor injuries was also treated and taken to Mediclinic Hospital.
“North West EMS treated and transported the other eight patients. The Police were also on the scene for further investigations,” he said.
