Planned water supply interruption for next week

The repairs are an important upgrade aimed at improving the reliability and sustainability of water supply.

The JB Marks Local Municipality is planning a planned water shutdown at the Ventersdorp road pump station for next week.

Jeanette Tshite, municipal spokesperson, says this shutdown is necessary to allow the contractor on site to install a new 200kW motor and pump, an important upgrade aimed at improving the reliability and sustainability of the water supply in the area.

The planned shutdown will take place on Monday, 19 January from 06:00 until late in the evening. During this period, a water supply interruption will affect the following areas:

  • Kanonierspark
  • Witrand Hospital
  • SANDF Base
  • Dassierand
  • Promosa
  • Mohadin
  • All Ikageng Extension Areas
  • Eersterandjies Reservoirs

“Residents are advised to make necessary arrangements by storing sufficient water in advance to support household needs during the interruption. The Municipality sincerely apologises for any inconvenience this may cause while essential work is being carried out for the benefit of the community,” Tshite concludes.
